タイトル: How Does the Distribution of Voters Affect the Sustainability of Party System? 著者: ENDO, Taeko 抄録: We explain the character of voters’ distribution determines party system. Voters care two points to choose a party; the political eff ectiveness and the favor to a party. If most voters strictly prefer the particular party, the distribution of voters will be bimodal. In the bimodal case, two-party system is sustainable. If strategic voters have a large share, the distribution of voters will be singlepeaked. In the single-peaked case, predominant party system is stable. A party, which has a high share of seats, gains an even higher share of seats. Another party’s power to realize a policy becomes smaller, and expelled out of politics.
